I am in the market for a total tuner/diagnosis unit. I want to be able to see what trouble codes pop up and I want to be able to totally control my tune now and later. I want to add more goodies like heads, exhaust and blower someday. What is the best deal for now and later. I have read about the TWEECER and AutoTap. Are there many more?

SCT is your best bet. it's been around for awhile and is still growing. Sniper is still a new company, so whether or not it is still around in a few years remains to be seen. Diablo doesn't seem to be coming out with new products.

I did a little research on this recently and almost ended up with an SCT Livewire, but ended up settling on an X3, since it's got all of the features of the X2 and some of the Livewire goodies, and it costs half as much as the Livewire did. That, and I got a sweet hookup on tunes for it. I was seriously considering the Sniper Tuning packages, but I think I'll wait until they have a little more time under their belt. Honestly, they all pretty much do the same thing these days.

SCT is good, you'll have fun with it.

Snipers Commando offers same features as SCTs Pro Racer and even easier to use for less money ( no brainer there ) ........The Special Forces packages has more end user features than anything on the market if you compare it to the other handheld tuners and you can tune 2 cars right out the box with the one kit , and the people behind Sniper have been dealing with EFI tuning since before SCT was even a thought .....there is no need to concern yourself with whether they will be here in a few years , because the people there have been in the business for years before they started Sniper , the question is will the other guys still be in business once Sniper releases their new products like the Patriot , and tuning for GM , Dodge , Nissan , Hyundai , and the list goes on and on ...........

Always shop by what the most reputable tuner (that you are willing to drive to) uses.

Diablo and SCT are the two most common. Niether is best IMO since in the end it's the guy doing the dyno tune that matters.
