I'm replacing my rusty heater tube: IMG_8597.webp
and I'm trying to figure out how to plug up the fitting that's supposed to run tubing up to the egr spacer. This part: IMG_8598.webp
I bought the car with those lines deleted and it looks like all they did on the old tube was pinch it shut. What's the proper way to plug that up?

Cut it off and braze/weld it over.

Or see if you can locate a 1993 Cobra specific heater tube.

On mine, I just put s short 1" bit of hose with a bolt stuck in the end and clamped on it. Was 20 years ago. I'll find a better solution but it's held up fine.

Those heater tubes may become a hot commodity one day. When I deleted mine, years ago, I used a piece of hose with a bolt in it and a clamp. No one will see it back there....and if you want to reverse it back you can.

I am favor of the 50 cent cap if you don't have a welder. However they do not last long. I would cut it off and weld a patch over it so it looks good, and there is nothing to jab your hands every time you reach in that area.
