I never would have done this color scheme without JR's suggestion and the :nice: support from some of you other guys in my other post..I think it turned out pretty nice! Lighting is tuff this time of the day, but you get the idea.

Just to refresh your memory, here are 2 older pics...first is just with the vents painted, and the second is after the white A/C face install.

If I get a chance later today, I will take off the shift bezel and paint the bottom curve only in the area that is continuous with the flow of the upper portion

Thanks again for the input in my other thread..

You did an excellent job on the painting RC. I think that it looks fantastic and I bet it really looks good peeping in from the outside. I'm glad you like what you have done and I appreciate you trying the idea. :nice:

Do your door cups if you have enough paint. It will help balance out the red on the inside. I don't really like the white A/C panel b/c it doesn't flow with anything but the gauges above and they look great as they are alone.

GREAT IDEA ZACH   :spot: (but I think Ill leave the clock pod alone)

JR: I was planning on the door handle bezel, and since I used the OFF THE SHELF Duplicor paint, I always have a nice supply. About the white face A/C, I always planned on the White face around the cluster, but I need help putting it in..WE can do that when you come down, but I think when that's in, it will look balanced.

Thanks.

You did a great job on painting that RC. I had silver bezels in my black interior for a long time but I finally went to a metallic gunmetal color and I love it. As you already know I'm going for the whole dark look, hence the name. But yours turned out great.

what kind of primer are you using? I'm going to be painting mine today but I too couldnt get the masking take to stick to it. I'll have to get some electrical tape I guess. Also... I'm going to use left over paint from my car to paint it.. Can I just use clearcoat from a spray can and it will be fine?

Just use the cheap old crap for Walmart. I didnt have to trim-tape any edges on the bezel..I just covered the vents. On the shift bezel tho, I have to mask off the thin edge...It's drying b/t coats right now.

well you beat me to the suggestion about putting up a white gauge face since you need something to match with the ac face BUT i think since the red you picked is on the darker side it would look better with the black ac face... but that's jmho

unless. you could paint the vents that you used to have grey a lighter shade or even white! i think that would add alot too, assuming that you're going to put in the white gauge face in the future

:nice: Color looks MUCH better in that picture
Yeah, it's so hard to get good interior shots of the car...how does the curvature on the bezel look?

Hey Pune, havent seen you around in awhile..Welcome back!
It's 2 light coats of primer, about 3 light coats, then one heavy coat of Duplicolor's Ford Electric Currant Red, and 2 light coats, then one heavy coat of clear..unless it separates completely from the original plastic, it should withstand some slight nicking and scratching without being too noticeable. As JR suggested, gotta consider working on the door handle cups now.
Thanks
