BFGoodrich g-Force Sport A/S or others?

Are these decent tires? I am in search of an all season tire for my Cobra. Mainly for wet/dry, but I will be in just a little snow (usually just an inch or two) and ice. Snow/ice will be minimal, maybe three or four times a year. I have looked at others, but price is a big issue. I am looking at some 18x9 Saleens, and these are the only name brand all season tire I can find under $200 each. I was also looking at Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S. Most say they are great, some complain of excess road noise. Any opinions? Which is a better choice, and any others i should consider (looking to spend $175 or less per tire, 255/?/18 front, same or maybe wider rear). Thanks.

i just got the g force sports and i like them alot. i would recomend them

I had them on my stock wheels before I sold them. Had sumitumos before that and nexens on the new wheels. Gforce sport handsdown. They are an awesome tire and great price from tirerack.com

Anyone else? Really concerned about road noise and wear. I've heard lots of good about the GY's, but also lots of bad. I also would like to know how they compare to my Nitto 555's, because I am also considering Nitto 555r's. Anyone have experience with the Nittos in some minor ice/snow (usually 2-3 inches at most, once or maybe twice a year). Thanks.

I have the BFG's A/S on my car right now 275/40-17 on 03 chrome Cobras and I love them. They are so much better in the rain and quieter than the Nitto 555. I have those on 285/35-18 on Steeda Ultra lites. The BFGs have held up well I've even put 120 miles on them at V.I.R. and they show little signs of wear. If I'm not mistaken, Nitto's website says not to drive the 555's in snow and ice. That's just what I remember I might be wrong. Go with the BFG A/S.

How well do the BFG's hook up on the track compared to Nittos? Looks like they will be my next tires.

The nitto 555R would be terrible in the snow. In fact, the stickers on my new nittos stated that they should not be exposed to temperatures below freezing (32F). Mine work surprisingly well in the rain so far, but still have plenty of tread.

Don't sacrifice performance on an all season station wagon tire.


Buy a summer performance for three seasons and run a used set of winter tires for those 4 snows you may encounter.


It takes once for you to be caught off guard and bend up your pride and joy; run the proper tire.

Remember it's a comprimise between performance and safety. The BFGs G-Force don't dig in as well as the Nitto 555s but that is not what they are designed for. I am willing to give up a little dry traction at the tire's limit rather than have the rear end step out on me on a rainy Monday morning on my way to work. The BFG's will give you plenty of warning when they are at their limit. If max grip is your concern get some drag radials and swap them out at the track.

I'm in college and don't really have the option of 2 sets of tires, just can't afford it. Weather in Arkansas is crazy. Last winter it was 40-50 degrees one day, then that night we got over 12 inches of snow on the ground. Very unusual occurance, but it did happen. Is dry traction gonna be that bad with the BFG's or GY's comparted to the Nitto 555s (not drag radials)? I'd rather have to slow my launch than spin out on snowy roads. I am hoping my current Nittos last through the winter so I will have something to compare to. Thanks everyone.

No they're not going to be that bad. Adjust your driving style and you'll be fine. Seems to me like you answered your own question when you described the weather out in Ar-Kansas
