No the cobra is not mine, was going to get one this year but saw this 88 notch and had to have it. Will change my avitar later.

I had the mag. in my hands last night, amazing. Daily driver to me is driving to work (28 miles each way) and back and of course sucking in some hondas and watching them turn into wedding rice. Driving it to the track and back etc.

I will look into air-to-water intercoolers also, underhood and possible rear seat area. Thats probably more work than I want to get involved in but who knows at this time. I want to keep the passenger seat. No fun just scaring yourself.

I'm going to look on Blackhole hunter's web site. Soaking it all in. Your engine looks like you could eat off of it. Why twin turbos and who made your upper intake? Looks fantastic.

Thnx for the compliment!! Its only that clean because it has been a garage whore for the last year!! LOL

I went twins honestly for the hell of it. I found a killer set-up on the NMRA (another great info and buying site) and had to try it. I have always had boost, was blowers. Destroyed my D-2 about three years ago, must have been drunk and sold all my EFI to go spray casue I thought it would be cheaper and easier, YA RIGHT, and missed the boost and DFI so I saved to go turbo, casue that is the winning power adder now a days, HANDS DOWN!!

Another thing, I am not a big fan of air to water on the street. It stays cold for a bit, but a healthy 10 psi or so and my charge temp is back up to 120-130*, not sure if thats bad, but on the dyno iced down just making pulls I see 80* and less, but thats a mess for a engine bay cooler. ALOT of hose!! I used almost 50FT to run a four core job, another huge hole in the fire wall, and another pump to wire.

I ran a air/air on my D-2 and it did great, but I didnt cruise or drive enough street to ever pay attention to the temp. Im sure you could get away with one, maybe with a spray bar on it for some high boost pulls.

Nasty NOS pic

Air to water intercoolers are not meant for street driving. In short bursts on a drag strip, you see greatly enhanced cooling over air to air. On the street, or with any sustained driving (let alone road race), they lose their effectiveness within minutes. If intake charge temperatures become a problem, don't hesitate to go water/meth or straight methanol. These kits, especially in the last few years, have become mainstream and common place. They will allow you to run more timing, in addition to providing cooler intake temperatures.
I agree with the recommendation to go with a 351-based engine. The more displacement you can get, the better. In the end, this should translate to you needing a little less boost to hit your target power. If you keep the car a stick, you will pretty much have to use a T-56, TKO 600, or a G-force unit. Whichever you choose, go with a multi-plate clutch set-up. They make street driving easier, they hold insane power amounts and they are easier on crankshaft loading.
700 rwhp on pump is certainly doable. When I finish piecing together my car, I should be able to hit that mark as well. Apparently, Portland is getting an E-85 fueling station soon. I plan to tune with some of that to see what I can do! Good luck.

One other question that's important is the transmission. There's a big difference between 700whp through a torque converter and 700whp througgh a clutch like your typical supra.

Honestly you could probably get a 700whp 400ish inch motor with a clutch to last for a good long time in an early production 351w block.
Here's a little tidbit you may be interested in...

And FWIW, Terry is THE tuner as far as I'm concerned.

lol...seems like everyone wants a 700+ rwhp daily driver these days

Lets see:

Nice flowing Dart long block: est. cost - $7,500 give or take some change.
Large T-76+ Turbo Race kit est. cost - $4500 - 5500 not including install labor.
Upgraded fuel system to support 700+ rwhp est. cost - $1000.
Transmission + support parts est. cost - $1000 - 2000+.
Stand alone tuning system w/ WBO2 - est. cost - $1500 - 2000+.
Countless hours tuning on the dyno or street by professional est. cost - $800 - 1000.
Built rear end to handle the new power and torque est. cost - $1500.
Misc. parts, gaskets, and whatever else you will eventually need est. cost - $2000.
All the down time your car is going to have to get this all done and back on the road est. cost - LOOOOOONG TIME

Est. total cost of build to do it right as you say: up to $22,500+

Good luck

Thanks loud 95. 351 sounds like the better option now. My buddy Jeff K. keeps trying to push the 351 stroker option as well. Air to air is the way to go for the street. I have read many articles on foxes and sn-95s with 700 to 900 rwhp on pump. They had to run special pistons from Probe but they did it. All great advice.

74courier... I will pick up a copy of maximum boost this weekend. Thanks.

Turbosnake95... Is that all? Good, I have just $21,500 more to save up and I'm there. Do you mind if I ask what turbo kit you have on your 95 snake and what your numbers are? Who did the work and are you happy with it?

For 30k I should just buy that one and save myself a lot of headaches. Hate to see the sunroof fly off at 144mph. Just like on "Pinks" last week.

Well lets see, I have or it is currently being built:

Dart based 3XX ci short block almost completed by ADPerformance/Bliss.
Custom SN95 Race Kit from Turbo Technology being built with a T-XX Turbo
Built C-4
F.A.S.T Bank to Bank system with 3 bar map and WBO2
AFR XXX head's
Custom Turbo cam
Trick Flow R upper and lower intake
Complete Aeromotive fuel system with upgraded pump
72 pound injectors, flow matched
and ALOT of other stuff.......................

As far as numbers go, well I have seen that all Dyno numbers really are a way to show off your E Penis on here.

Ill just see what mine does at the track, if I make it this year

Still need to buy my Torque converter and put some better parts in the rear end.

AD Performance / Bliss built the Engine

Turbo Technology Inc. is building the race kit ( check there website, my car's pic is on their customer's ride page)

Almost everything else I purchased from Chung at Blue Oval and put on the car my self or with friends.

George, the owner of Turbo Tech does all my tuning

My car has been down a year now during this build up. But I am getting real excited since its almost near completion.

Before all this I was running Turbo Tech's Street kit with pretty good results with a mild build up for an engine.
