What is the biggest rubber that I can put on the stock 65 steel wheel?
Am not sure but think its a 14x5. Its the standard steel wheels that use the wheel covers.

Looking for what can be used in both a 70 and 60 profile tire. Car now has the Shelby drop with stock springs and will want to use same size tire on front and back.

I looked on dodgestang's tire chart but it only lists the 185/75-14. Am sure that others can be used just don't know what or where to look.

BTW, were'nt the early styled steel wheels the same size, 14x5?

I just bought a 65 yesterday and it has 195/70's on it with the stock steel rims.

needless to say these will be the first thing I will replace. I will be putting 225/16's on her.

Checked out the site but didn't find anything that says how big I can go on those rims.

Anyone know how big you can go with 14x5 rims in 60 and 70 profile tires?
Anyone?

Will eventually replace the rims but can't afford to do so at this time. And, the rubber needs to be replaced soon so I figured that I'd put bigger tires on the old rims for the time being.

OK, ended up getting some inexpensive 205/70-14's all around on my stock rims and the cars drives well. Although it probably has more to do with the rebuilt front suspension that my wife and I put in last month.
