Biggest wheel that can fit in a lowered '69 Mach1?

Just curious.. How big could the wheels be on a 1969 Mach 1? (what is the biggest possible... just curious)

How big could they be when its lowered 1-1.5"?

Need your input, thanks!

what size Rim ? (dia.)

I have a chart that tells you what size non-0stock rims and tires fit, but once you lower the car, I don't know how accurate it is. The lowering may effect the accuracy of the information.

i have a buddy who put in 28 x 11.5's an the car is lowered 2".
but he also has a custom 9" in the rear

hm... is that 9" narrowed?

I wasn't thinking a drag-style setup, anyway. I was thinking tasteful 17-18" wheels (preferably TTII's) and low profile tires, as wide as possible.

I've got 255/60/15 on my Mach, a 285/40/18 and 285/35/19 are all the same diameter, 27 inches. Mine is lowered at least an inch but probably more. I rub on one fender right now. If I roll the fender lip and get wheels with a different offset I'm sure I could get at least a 285 under there. Going from a 255/60/15 to a 285/40/18 is only about 1-1.5 inches wider (depending on tire) and I have 2 inches from the tire to the leaf springs right now. I think you could get a 285/40/18 with the right offset with no problems.
I dont know what you need for the front. I have 235/60/15 and rub when turning all the way.

there was a 69 fastback in hot or car craft a few monts ago that had 315/35-17's in the rear and 275/40-17's in the front, and i think it was lowered about 4 or 5 inches, supposedly there were no major mods in the rear like minitubs or narrowed rear or anything else

yeah and i was worried about trying to fit a 295/50-15 in the back, well ok i wasn't really worried, i have a 275/50-15 on the back now and there is plenty of room, but yeah 315/35 WOW is right

I bet it looks real good from the rear of the car, very aggressive looking probably.

I have 275/45/17's in the back, they tuck under nicely... with about 3/4 in clearance on both sides
