Is it just me or is owning a 5.0L depressing sometimes?
Our cars are the longest running American sports car [Yes, we beat the Corvette because they skipped 83? 84?] and they have a great history. And while I love driving my 'Stang around and it does get some great looks from people, which I do enjoy... I hate the fact that I'm losing races to little >$20k 4-bangers...
We have a 302ci engine, which sounds like a bunch of power, and we're losing to little rice cars [SRT-4, 337 GTI, WRX STi, Evo....Etc...]. Hell, even the new GT is only 300ish rwhp. The new 07 Mustang GT retails for about $26,000 - and that's getting beat by little 4cyl cars with practically no work done to them.
Then my only excuse is "My bottle is empty and I'm running N/A"... So what? I have 4 extra cylinders and I'm more than twice the size of the engine in the next car.
Just with the time, work, money, and sweat I put into my car nothing seems to come from it.. I feel like I'm bashing my head up against a wall.
Sorry guys.
