Blew my t-5..

Well thanks for the help guys but I just got a new tranny for $850...well a remanufactured one. It has a few little things that should make it hold my near stock power levels like nothing.

For me getting the t-5 out today was so easy. I used a jack to support the crossmember as I unbloted it and after I had the tranny unbolted from the motor I just had my girlfriend pull out the jack and I just pulled it out...the thing weighs 75lbs.....thats nothing it was so easy..

On another note the tranny has a few little goodies like hardened gears, the .68 5th, 2.95 1st, and the steel bearing retainer. It has 0 miles on it and I can't waite. I saw summit racing had the OE t-5 for about $2000 but I know for that mooney you can go tko....I'm happy and I will have the car running asap. I feel broke now dumping $1200 into lol:eek: Not really but it will be a fun car with the new pro 5.0, kc clutch, and this fresh t-5...

If you blew 3rd, more than likely the countegear is mangled as well and the peices prob took out a few other parts. That's what i call a catistrophic failure where it just pretty much takes out the whole transmission. There are more bad parts than good.

Toss it in the classifieds as a parts tranny and see if you can make $25-50 out of the day. People like me scoop em up and try to make 1 good trans out of 3-4 bad ones.

Not sure where you are located but Bob Hanlon from Hanlon Motorsports used to buy messed up t5s. What's trash to us is a few usuable parts to him. He would probably give you a few bucks for it.

If i get all my stuff in time hopefully mon/tuesday of next week. I think I can do it.

I just won a alum. driveshaft for $160 shipped so thats going on the car also. My clutch should come in today but I still have to remove the bellhouseing and the clutch thats on the car still.

You should see the car right now, it looks like a monster truck lol....with the tranny, ds, and exhaust out, the space in the wheel wells looks really bad...and I thought it looked bad b4..

The car should feel a lot better after the new parts are on. I can't waite..I have yet to feel what a hard shift into 2nd is like...

The bellhousing is off and so is the clutch..The only hard part was getting the top bolt off the starter. It took some grunt and I hit my hand hard when it broke loose...

The clutch seems to be in decent shape, it never slipped or anything. I'm just replacing because it's all apart anyhoo. I think it's a stock unit because of how easy it went to the floor. I think it said velco or somthing like that with blue springs...

Tomorrow Some parts should show up and hopefully go on the car....tranny is comming wednesday so I still have to waite..

What fluid do you guys run in the t-5...I know atf.....
