Blow Off Valve help!

BK..

One other question...by BOV is before the MAF...so the air that is being let go is not being read by the MAF...I have a blow thru setup...

Can this still cause these problems?

Thanks!

i dont know. i doubt it. those syptoms sound more like vacuum leaks.

do you have a wideband? or a boost gauge?

if not no biggy i was just curious to see if we could see how much air your losing. just hook the BOV up and see if that resolves anything.

it is not venting metered air. it is a blowthru setup.

the vac line looks fine to me. it is just t'ed into an existing line so why would that be a problem? it is after the TB if i'm looking at the right pics.

also a power pipe should work just fine. you may need to lose the shiney upper radiator hose

he isnt building boost because the BOV is open at all time. thats why i wanted to know if you had a boost gauge.

and the picture SaleenGT2001 posted is the correct spot to have it hooked up. ive seen a few people hook it up to the pcv port before the tb and cause all kinds of problems. but not having it hooked up at all will do the same.

does it sound like this
listen at the 0:46 mark

I watched the original vid...couldn't hear anything at the :46 mark..

The pics I put up were on the old engine...not mine...the shiny radiator tubing is not on mine...

And you are correct...I have no line connecting the BOV to the plenum...right now just venting to the atmosphere..

thing clicks constantly when driving...had trouble getting into any boost on my gauge...always in the vacuum...

a/f was all over the place...tuner is having a hard time....keeps saying something is wrong with the MAF....

After hearing all this...I should have gone to Fastlane!

Thanks!

No you should go to Fastlane. Obviously the clowns that are working on your car don't have a clue what they are doing. Tell them that you are going to take it to a different shop and that you want some of your money back.

we are asking mainly if the vacuum line is connected. and the BOV you have is designed to vent to the atmosphere you will need a BOV like THIS to recirculate it back into the intake.

My BOV is a HKS SSQV....even if it is meant to go either way...atmosphere ore into intake...seeing that the previous owner had it going into the intake in the above referenced pics....I think that is part of the problem I am having...

The bov has a little 1/4 inch fitting on it that is supposed to be connected to a vacume line from the manifold and a 1 1/4 inch or so that is supposed to vent back into the intake piping before the supercharger. In a blow thru setup your bov is hooked up before the maf. check prochargers website for a generic diagram of a blow thru supercharger setup.

i didnt realize you werefrom NC. what part are you from? i'd be willing to drive down and datalog/ help find your problems.

+1 on the Fastlane comment. they are a great bunch. they did the engine build and dyno for my car. also check out HorsepowerJunkies.com it is a great local forum

what shop is doing your work for you?

*edit* i see your in fayetteville. if you dont have any plans i can swing by tomorrow after work and see whats going on with your car
