Well since I can't post in the right forum for some reason ? I will say this, I am now looking for a machine shop that can machine the ford mod motors. Since mine is now kaput. Crap. Does anyone know of one near Edmonton or Calgary? Even Saskatoon or Regina? #7 and #8 pistons are pooched ie Rings are toast.

I wouldn't even bother. You ca pick up a new 4.6 block for 300 US. By the time a shop inspects the old one and machines it you will spend about the same.

Well I'd like to do that but it's a little hard to find a teksid block and hopefully this one is fixable.

Teksid is the place in Italy where ford had the blocks for the lincoln mk 8 and the cobas till 98 cast. Since mine is a 97 is would be a teksid and not a windsor. Teksids are good for some big power but not when they stuff them with hyperpathetic pistons and powered metal rods. At least I may have only cracked a piston and it may be fixable.

I wouldn't worry about it. The Windsor motors will take more power then you will ever make anyway.

If you want to keep the block that is ok too. Any machine shop should be able to hone the bores.

That really sucks to hear man. Those Teksid blocks are definetly a hot commodity. They built those blocks on the same assembly line as Ferrari. Try to get it fixed somewhere. I know Action Auto Parts and Zelmore Automotive both do block work but the question is if you trust them or not . I would talk to Matt at The Mustang Shop as well. He might know a really good machine shop, I know he has a really good engine builder. That's too bad, I wanted to see the war wagon of yours at the track.

You'll see her next year for sure, gotta finish the house and then I'm going into the motor. I can see cams and other goodies in my future.
