blower or h/c

well i want to get more power so i stuck on what to do next.Should i do a blower or h/c?Which one will be harder to install?Will my stock heads and block be able to handle a blower.If i do a blower i will go with a vortec or KB,if i do h/c i will go with ported gt-40 and TFS 1 cam.Any advice will be greatful.im trying to get in the low 13 or high 12s.

$/hp is less with a blower. Install is easier but overall output will be hampered by the small heads and cam.

I personally plan to do H/C/I then if $$ ever allows and the trans is already beefed step up and get boosted.

If you can understand and have the ability to deal with those issues as they come up, I'd go with a blower and my first choice would be KB ;)

You being a Vert makes if a bit more of a challenge but you certainly can obtain that goal na or pa :nice:

I'd go with some used Aluminum heads like take off's or the like if you are gonna try and keep the cost down. AFR's and the like are not necessary for your goals. I like Aluminum over iron when blown for the benefit of thicker decks and ping is not as prone. GT40/Gt40p's flow enough IMHO but ... you don't get those other two benefits.

You already got a nice intake so gather up some better fuel components, an ignition to eleminate spark blow out, tune it up nice, and you should be good to go :banana:

well this is one of the combos i was thinking of going with

my cobra intake
TFS Twisted Wedge Aluminum Heads
75 pro-m maf with 24#inj
Not sure on the cam,which one will be good with this combo

I look into the other post and i like what 94-302-vert had to say about making it a solid car first and then go with the big stuff.right now i have 1700 to spend,how much im I looking to spend with the combo above.

Or

i do wheels,and suspension,all fuel and ign components and fix up some bugs .Will a tweecer do me any good at this point?

Right now im runnig a 14.6 at 96 with a 2.2 60ft is that good for my mods or should i be lower?

Don't forget that with TFS heads you are forced to use stud rr's so having said that you also gotta use new pr's so don't forget to figure that into the mix.

AFR heads will allow you to use ped's which could save you money. Not sure if you have the ped option with Edels. I prefer studs anyway so to me its no big deal.

I just wanted to point that out if you had not thought about it.

I'd pick the 80mm maf over the 75 even though the cost is a bit more.

You're gonna need a bigger intank pump.

As for a cam, lots of choices. Several have done well with 2031, TFS stage 1, etc. Crower cams can make good power but they are so pricey you might as well go Custom.

Not too sure $1700 is gonna take you as far as you think if you go with new parts. Don't forget you gotta have gaskets, anti freeze, oil, oil filter, and all that piddley stuff.

I know it won't get the job done if you gotta pay for labor.

You'll just have to add it all up real good :)
