Blower purchasing advice

Im looking for a blower in the near future. I would like a KB just because of there durability/reliability. But am leaning towards a Vortex/Novi because there alot cheaper.Im only looking for 6-8lbs of boost. Any recommondations? And how long are these blowers good for in terms of mileage before they need a rebuild?

The vortech A-trim is no longer made or sold.. In fact they haven't been made or sold for a while now (years).

With that said, the simple SC-trim Vortech will do very well in providing 6-8 psi and are VERY rock solid.

I've had mine on the car for over 2 years now and 35,000 miles. No problems, no REAL complaints (minor complaint would be the belt tensioner designed, but I fixed that).

SC..A trim..there all the same haha.. then SC trim is what I would do, 8psi is cake.

How far away is later. If it's not that far down the road, don't worry about the maintenance thing. It's getting replaced anyway right? I would go with a centrifugal supercharger over a KB because that will make for an easier swap to a turbo later since KB's replace intake manifolds, etc. etc. With a centrifugal you can reuse more stuff than you'd be able to going with a KB.

Get the Vortech SC-trim 6-8psi you will not be sorry. I have also had good luck with my Powerdyne BD-11A@6psi, but many people don't like them, because they need internal belt replacement. They are a good bang for the buck and you don't have to drill your oil pan. The other guys are right a turbo kit is the best, but for many just out of our price range.
