Blowing coolant, overheating HELP!

i just installed new mls headgaskets, and everything seemed fine. but twice i floored it, and banged a couple gears, and i smelled coolant, and my temp gauge rose QUICKLY to HOT, and i blew the hose of my overflow bottle, and coolant was everywhere.
anyone ahve any ideas?

probably just blew a gasket. get it running and see if the coolant bubbles

head gasket? already?
you dont blow mls gaskets, just like that lol

cometics here, mine did the same thing after a year they were installed. What type of gaskets did you use and did you coat them with anything prior to installation. Cometics should be coated while the FelPro MLS doesnt need anything.

Also if you didn't have the heads properly surfaced that could have caused it as well. Running Cometics and the heads need a finer finish, almost polished to seal properly. Also you are supposed to retorque the heads I believe afetr a couple of heat cycles. Good luck.

so is it defenately a head leak? or could another gasket do that?
or could be be something else

Do the obivious - do a compression test. Either a leak down or regular compression test will tell the story. See my website for details on building your own leak down compression tester.

Sure its possible it could be something else. Did you have your heads shaved specifically smooth for the gaskets? It should be 50Ra or finer.

It seems like his symptoms are under boost only. A leakdown test might not reveal any problems because it cant reach such high pressures. It's worth a shot tho.
