Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger injured his right ankle or foot during the last half-hour of the team's final training camp practice. It was not immediately certain how badly he was hurt or how long he would be out. Roethlisberger had an ice pack on the back of the ankle when he was carted off at the end of Thursday's workout, with offensive coordinator Bruce Arians accompanying him. Roethlisberger didn't talk to reporters, but he could be overheard saying, "Oh it just feels great. It feels like a car ran over it." Coach Mike Tomlin declined to talk to reporters. Team spokesman Dave Lockett said only, "Someone stepped on his foot, and we don't have any updates other than that

You have to hope from this report it's not a torn achilles.

Ben's lawyers fighting this one. They have a pretty good point. It's good to see that he is not just paying this bitch off. He's fighting it. Dig this . . .

Big Ben's Lawyers File Motion To Dismiss Civil Suit

RENO, Nev. -- Late Friday night, attorneys for Ben Roethlisberger filed a motion to dismiss a civil suit filed by a woman who claims Roethlisberger raped her at a Lake Tahoe resort last summer.

Channel 11 obtained the legal document which was more than 40 pages long, his attorneys asked that case against Roethlisberger be dismissed.

In the motion, Roethlisberger's lawyers call his accuser, Andrea McNulty, an "admitted sex addict" and allege that her lawyer made extortionate demands before filing the suit.

Roethlisberger's attorney's also question McNulty's mental condition and request that she undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

According to the motion, "The plaintiff is a disturbed and calculating woman who, together with counsel, fabricated a claim of sexual assault against a 2-time super bowl winning quarterback to save her job and extort a large monetary payoff."

The motion also claims the woman's lawsuit was "deliberately timed to coincide with the opening of NFL training camps, which ensured that the complaint would garner the attention of the national media."

And in laying out Roethlisberger's defense, his attorney's said, "Rather than reporting to anyone that she had been allegedly raped, she told her friends and co-workers a completely different story. She never told her best friend that she had been sexually assaulted."

A lawyer for the woman is asking a judge to sanction the Steelers quarterback's legal team for trying to "bully" and intimidate her into dropping her civil lawsuit.

Cal Dunlap said Roethlisberger's lawyers tried to "smear" the woman with an affidavit from an ex-friend who said the sex at a hotel-casino was consensual and that the woman bragged about it.

Dunlap said in a motion filed Thursday in Reno that Roethlisberger's lawyers made a settlement offer this week suggesting they might counter-sue her for defamation.

Roethlisberger's lawyers said in the offer that a "conspiracy to extort and defame" him has seriously harmed his potential earnings in excess of $20 million. They want her to write him a letter of apology.

Definitely!! It wasn't the same whooping up on the Patriots in their own house last year without Brady there. :)

Not a fair comparision when playing a team w/ out their NFL MVP player. And how many times have the steelers beaten the patriots over the years with brady VS times they have lost to them
How many times have the Patriots gone into the steelers home and knocked them out of the playoffs :nice:

Quite a few NFL "experts" think the Vikings will do great now that they have Favre.
I'm not convinced yet. It is possible they could win their division.

Experts have a blind faith b/c they are all retired players who see someone still trying to get it done while they sit in the brodcast booth so of course they are going to pull for them. I hope he has a devestating horrible year just to finally put a nail in the retirement coffin.

LOL calm down he was saying it WAS NOT THE SAME without brady being there

I know what he was saying I was just adding to it.

It was just the basic statement of "whooping up on them in their own house" so I figured Id remind him of how many times the Patriots whooped up on the steelers in their own house....but also knocking them out of the playoffs in the process.

Yeah the year they beat the steelers when they were 15-1 was great.. brady with a 100+ degree fever that needed fluids before and after the game and at half time goes out and plays a near perfect game...

Ahh the good old days, hopefully they will be back to that this year

No big deal kicking the Steelers in their own house. Giants did it last year. :jester:
