Bolt on 93 Notch vs 06 GT possibly soon, what do you think will happen?

i have seen enough people killed and or seriously hurt in wrecks resulting from this kind of stuff to come to the conclusion that it is really not very smart.....dying in a car accident is extremely messy and you really get a sense of the forces that are at work when you are dealing with hulks of metal screaming down the interstate at 100+ mph...... i have seen plenty of people shot and stabbed to death as well as in car accidents.....the accidents are by far the most disturbing, especially considering that they usuallt happen as a direct result of the stupidity of the driver.during the course of my job i have at times been required to be at the wheel of a vehicle screaming down the highway at 100+mph, and when it is all over with, i am usually pretty pissed off at the person who forced me into that situation....

Cop, fire fighter or EMT? I have seen people wreck cars racing, somebody usually drunk or just ignorant, also seen people wreck not racing. Racing at the track isnt safe either, just SAFER. Any kind of racing is dangerous but I do know what you are saying.

I was on the passenger side of that, so I know what a car can do when it comes off the road but we werent even racing. Just trying to catch up, road looked dry, wasnt, hit a church sign going 65 MPH or so.

cop...go figure! and for the record, i do not write speeding tickets! i like to drive fast just as much as anyone else, or i wouldn't be on this site...... i just remember what i was like when i was younger ( still only 25) and i used to do some dumb ass stuff in my cars, stuff i would NEVER do now! i know there are a lot of younger folks on this site and i just wish i could convey to them that some of the stuff us folks who like to race is extremely dumb! i have been guilty of it myself in the past. i look at it this way......at the track, the chances of hurting yourself, and more importantly, innocent people who are just trying to get home, etc. , drop astronomically.....not to mention the fact that if you get caught, the penalties are especially severe and you could end up having a pretty lawn ornament for a car for a long time! times when i have caught people who are acting like fools in their car, i have charged them with everything i could think of. no one ever seems to think about the harm they could cause other people with their actions.....anyway i have ranted about this enough!

Lol, you get much more than straightline performance for the price. You get everything new. Plus out handles, out performs, out brakes, out rides, out sounds (stereo), the older predicessor. It isn't just about straightline.

If your so gung hoe about the new cars sell the fawking fox and buy one... Yea everyone knows you owned one already and your supposted "reasons" for getting rid of it.

to answer you comments mr 5 spd GT......my car will hang with an 05 in most of those categories you mentioned.....i didn't list every single mod in my sig, however i have about 17k worth of reciepts for money someone else spent on my current car before i bought it....but i only paid 6 k for it....my gas mileage is pretty decent, def. comparable but i do run only 93 octane in my car....and if you could see or hear the stereo in mine, it makes the factory garbage they have in anything on the road sound like a wal mart special....i guess i got lucky......i bought my car from a middle aged guy who happened to have a surplus of vehicles, and didn't know anything about these cars.....so i got a car someone spent a boatload of money on getting pro installed work for about 1/3 of the money that was spent on it in the last 5 years......by the way, i would NEVER buy a brand new car....might as well flush money straight down the toilet....but if it makes anyone feel better, i do really like the way the new stangs look....ford did a really nice job with em! they better step it up tho, i really don't want to see them get out done in the near future!

I bet your stereo doesn't have a smooth sound. It has that 6x8in. Pioneer sound with some bumpin' 12's yo Not the same quality. Quality over quantity my friend.

Why wouldn't you buy a new car? You could have bought a nice one with the money you spent on your car and all those 17k of mods And you still have an old platform that has been twisted and abused over time. With other things left on the table...

one more thing, anyone who races on the interstate is an idiot.....good way to get yourself killed.......if you see enough fatal accident scenes, you would understand. it does not take any skill at all to race from a roll on the highway, so i dont think it proves anything any how

So you don't have to shift quick and effectively? You don't have to know where to shift? You don't have to know your powerband? Racing from a stop just adds one more thing. It makes it more dangerous (swerving from those not in the know), and just you have to be easier on clutch/gas possibly.

I HATE the new car vs old car crap when we start talking money.

The 5.0 Mustang has nothing to prove when compared to newer cars...it already dominated its era and established a cult-like following. Its like comparing a 1st gen Mustang to a foxbody--the fox is all around a better car, but guess which one I'd take? I'm sure most other 5.0 fans drive their cars because they like them better than other mustangs. Lets face it, the 96+ Mustangs are a dime a dozen so its not price that is stopping foxbody fans from "upgrading".

Personally, the fact that foxes weren't newish cars appealed to me.(I like old school cars I guess) It seems like with newer cars---each reineration brings about new features or qualities that are "must haves". I'd compare it to the media's effect on our desires--"you MUST have this new feature or gizmo because what you were satisfied with yesterday has now become obsolete". Ehh, I want off the spinning wheel, and to be content with what I have without always comparing it to something else.

quality is the name of the game when dealing with sound.....as for the keep opening your wallet comment, i haven't yet spent a performance dime on this car, i bought it as is i for one cannot stand a car with overpowering bass, so 12's were to big for me.....i have 2 really good 8 inch subs, and i would not ever buy anything made by pioneer! if anyone is really that interested, i can post some pics of the set up, but i am not gonna waste anyones unsolicited time.....it seems i have been writing novels lately!

In most topics people will say " I could build something for less."

The Fox body is what it is and that's all it is.

The new S197 is great because that is what continues to move the mustang legend forward, but also preserve the great memories of the 5.0L days.

S197 is a step in the right direction. The Fox platform is 1978 technology with mediocre updates here and there, but even at it's dimise, is was no match for the S197 chassis.

S197 is a new area for the Mustang and will prove itself as another legend for performance/dollar. The s197 is at the same price per earnings ratio as the 89 GT statistics show. The full potential has yet to be reached for the average Joe street guy. I look forward to seeing what the new chassis can and will continue to do as the years pass.

So you are going to make it look like an 05? Act like an 05? Handle like an 05? Get gas mileage like an 05? Get "no squeeks" like an 05? Get the warranty like an 05? Get the smoothness of an 05? Reliability of an 05? Mileage of an 05 (new)? The list goes on...and on...and on...

The same ones talking about fixing up the 5.0L's now, will have their sons fixing up these 4.6L's later...and will be complaining about how horrible the 3.2L v6 that puts out 400rwhp in 10 years... Because the price difference...lol.

Just saying the new Mustangs are not the quietest, smoothest ride in town. They creek and crack, snap crackel and pop, because of the cheap plastic. As far as ride and interior noise goes, they fall quite short of say a BMW, Mercedes, Acura, or even most imports, they tend to have pretty nice interiors, quiet.

Now I'm not saying anything bad about new Mustangs, I love them, but in order to sell base models for $20k, they obviously use the cheapest thing they can mass produce.

I never said they were, but they are better than there predecessor, 04 and down...especially the foxes. No doubt. I wasn't comparing it to foreign or higher-end cars.

Cheap plastic? Plastics make it possible...they are lighter...so they go in where they can. Do you want a steel dash? That would be nice to hit when your in a wreck, eh?

Finally you get it...they aren't hand-made. You get what you pay for...should they put gold trim around the shifter bezel for you? Would you accept them then?
