Bolts holding flywheel onto crank

No, it's not a thread lock product, it is a sealant. Thread lock will only leak. Thread lock meaning products such a loctite (lock-tight)

Only the 80's-up 5.0's used thread sealer on the crank bolts. The 28 oz crank's bolt holes are blind and don't extend thru the reear flange. I use teflon pipe thread sealer, no problems.

I'd just pick up some Permatex blue or red and use it. I'm using blue on my head studs and no leaks to report, so it'll seal flywheel bolts just fine.

The bolt holes appear to have a void area around them inside the hole about 3/4 of an inch. Obviously I cant tell what the void is, and you know me, I really dont have any idea, but what am I seeing in there?

I did a round to Denver and back this week. Weather was great and a nice change from the humidity down here. Just a Bummer I couldn't stay longer. Left here Sunday night, delivered in Denver Tuesday am, reloaded 12 miles away in downtown, then down to Sherman Tx. Wednesday at noon. Reloaded again south of Dallas last night and delivered that 30 miles from the house this morning. if your motor is a 28 oz balance, the flywheel bolt holes are blind. No sealer needed. The 5.0 blocks(85-up) also need sealer on the lower head bolt holes.
