To make a long story short, I blew my engine 2 days ago, big bummer. I am in NJ and have been quoted $3700.00 for a remanufactered engine, installed with my supercharger. See my sig for what I 've got in the car.
Do you guys think that is a reasonable price? I would of thought more. This doesn't include all the new fluids and NJ's 7% sales tax, so it will be in the vicinity of $4000.00. Money is no problem, so I would pay more if I had to, cuz she's my baby.
Give me your input please.

$3700 for a "new" stock engine? If your block is still good just buy some forged internals for $998 max (rods and pistons rated @ 800hp) from MMR using a stock crank. If your block and heads are messed up buy their forged shortblock for like $2389 then put some cheap PI heads on there. No sense buying another engine that will burst.

Your GT is supercharged, buy a forged bottom end as CobraRed stated. Find out if your heads are ruined, if they arent transfer them over to your new forged shortblock and cut some money.

If you replace it with a stock motor, especially a reman. at that (some are not that well put together, depends on company) you are just asking for trouble again. I would highly doubt you can get any warrenty on a new or reman. motor with the supercharger either.

Thanks man, that sounds like a better idea...the $2389 for a forged shortblock. Only thing is, will all the accessory stuff like water pump, A/C, etc, all go back on with no modifications? In other words, will it bolt right in??

A forged shortblock will just replace whats broke in yours. Everything else will transfer right over. I know where you can get an Aluminator short block for 4k shipped. Aluminum block, forged crank, rods, pistons. reduces about 75lbs on the nose of the car.

hey man,the obvious reason it went to toast to begin with is because too much power for the stock bottem end,prob let a rod go,anyhow the only way to do this job would be to rebuild the bottom end with forged internals or to buy a forged shortblock and transfer all tats good from yours.if it was me id buy an assembled shortblock and just swap everything,that will give you the quickest turn around and the least amount of hassle dealing with machining and so on.also im located in new jersey as well and if you want i can do the whole job for you,pretty familiar territory for me haha.let me [email protected]

The Aluminator might be a good deal, if the crank endplay issue has already been addressed. Otherwise, I'd run far, far away from that one, especially if used.
