Boost Guage.. Mech or Electric??

Im adding a Powerdyne Bd11 blower and im wanted to mount a few guages in the center A/C vents. I have two guages on the A-pillar, Water temp and oil press and there both electrical. There Phantom Guages and i want the boost guage to match and the only way is to get a Mech. Boost Guage. So whats the difference between a mechanical and electrical Boost Guage. I know the difference with water temp and oil pressure, you have to run all those lines and stuff, but how does a mechanical boost guage work??

Mechanical is what you want, the difference is the boost is coming right to the gauge. On an electrical gauge the fluid goes to a sender, then it translates that to the gauge.

I do not think there is a elec boost gauage available..

I believe the Autometer Cobalt boost is available in electric only.. but I'm too lazy to look.

I've always been told mechanicals are more acurate. But with the fear of line damage and leaking stuff in the interior I have always went with electrical for anything with liquids. However with boost its only air. Even if the make an electrical I would go with a mechanical.

mechanical.... hands down, more accurate. and its not any harder to run the lines

Sweet guys thanks for clearing it up. They do make electrical boost guages but the prices are outrageous almost 200 bucks, usually its the other way around with electrical and mech guages. Again, thanks!!
