I vacation all summer, so I generally stay home on Labor Day Weekend because I can't stand running into the crowds in the mountains...

So I buffed the Cobra instead...

I've still been procrastinating on finishing my sideskirts... oh well...

Mainly I have just been practicing taking pics with my Rebel

Not bad for 15 year old paint... It will get painted when EVERYTHING else is done..

Gorgeous car, man! Normally I'm not a fan at all of those FR500's, especially on our cars, but your car REALLY pulls them off! Paint on that car looks great too. Love it.

Looks good, except for the "square" left by the license plate lol.

What compound/polish did you use? Just curious.

I will have a new front bumper for it this spring

I will look up what compound it is.. It's a professional compound we used to call "finalize". Then hand applied Meguiars NXT...

When I was in high school, the shop I worked for did some detailing, so insisted they teach me how to buff.. I got pretty good at it

With a car like that, I figured the "plate" wouldn't be there long

It's a good thing you learned how to buff properly. I detail at the local Ford dealer, and I have seen some BAD buffing jobs.

I usually use 3M or Meguiars compounds, then polish with Menzerna(what Mercedez uses on their production line), and finish with Meguiars wax.

Well.. When I bought the car, the front license bracket was already on it.. so i took it off.. then got pulled over..twice.. So I just had to screw the plate to the bumper.. I already intended on replacing it because it has some minute spidering in it, so its not a big deal..

I have a 96 Cobra rear in my basement ready to go on too..

I just need to get all my parts together to get painted all at once.. I really need to finish sanding the sideskirts lol.. It's been so nice out, I hate working on the car..

The stuff I used is made by luster-glaze... Its a REALLY good polishing compound.. I also used a little 3M 2000 Grit on a couple of spots..

Buffing is definately an art.. Its hard.. I'd honestly rather buff black than white..

I buffed my car basically in the dark, with a halogen lamp shining down the side, so I could see the paint better.. It worked pretty well..
