Hey guys, so I called my local machine shop today... and I am dropping off my block on sat., they want to check the block first before ordering the stroker kit, just to make sure everything is ok, I am giving him 200 dollars to start the job, I have cleaned with a solvent to get the grease off and I power washed it for about 2 hours and tried to get it as clean as I could. It does look pretty good, but I think they acid dunk it and he mentioned stress testing or something. The owner used to be a neighbor and is a friend of mine and may dad's so I know I'm not going to get ripped off but just want to see if the pricing seems right to you guys. I think he will charge me around 200 to bore and hone the block.. and I'm sure if it needs to be decked that will be extra. But just hoping everything is ok with it. He said he has built them before using the probe 347 kit and that they are good kits. I just wanted to see what you guys think of the pricing, and I wanted to get your guys opinion about the balancing. With the pics I have looked at it looks like they balance it with the harmonic balancer and flywheel.... and adperformance said it would be 200 to get a balanced kit.. I am thinking it would be better for me to have my shop balance it. Does anyone know if the stock balancer would work, and I what about the flywheel.. Do you think it is a must to replace both while I'm at it, or if my parts are in good condition can I use them. Oh and last thing what is the weight of the stock balancer.. 88 gt vert.. Thanks guys!!
