Bought a new toy! short video added

Well, its not another stang but just as fun. After selling my boat last winter I figured it was time for another. Kinda hard working on everyones elses boat and not having one for us too. Heres a link to pics of the boat that the broker company had. I will get some better ones next time I have it in the water. It is a 28' Century Ultra II with twin 454's and Bravo 1 drives. http://www.lakewideyachtbrokerage.com/1507.htm

Damn that's huge. Will you be using that on inland lakes? That's way too big a boat for any inland lakes around here (although people try it). I'm into pwc - used to have a modded Ultra 150 and now have a slightly modded GP1200R. But I like seeing V8 boats! The sound of 8 cylinders in water beats anything (8x2 is even better I guess) :)

This is the average to smaller boats on this lake. I live and boat on the Lake of the Ozarks and the marina I work for sells boats from 22 to 46 ft. I actually had to buff and wax a Regal 4460 motor yacht Monday and finished today (closed tuesdays) and then started another 4460 this afternoon. Talk about some work! Here is a pic of the 4460's. http://www.regalboats.com/2008/SportYachts/Commodore/4460/Gallery There is a plus to it though, I get to go to the customers homes and drive them back to the marina. The sad part is that I will more than likely never own a house worth as much as this boat!

The Lake Rescue Shootout is the weekend of the 25-27th of this month also. I will be there and taking lots of pics and will post them up here if anyone is interested in seeing them. I posted them up the last 2 years also. It is basically people from all over the country come and run a 1 mile drag race, one boat at a time and radar gun at the end. This is the biggest unsanctioned race in the US. We got to see Dave Callan w/ Callan Marine set the record at 208mph in the one mile drag last year. There are some awesome boats that run in this and if anyone is down this way its worth stopping by to check out the boats. All the Top Gun boats will be tied up at Shooters 21 any everyone can wander the docks and check out all the multi million dollar boats. Some are even running twin turbine setups and triple 1800hp custom engines. http://www.lakeshootout.com/ Heres a pic of us heading to the shootout last year in our old boat. View attachment 372153

damn you make me miss having a boat, hell right now id even settle for the old '69 16' newman trihull we used to have, was an ugly-ass thing, but it was fun to take it out on the ozarks and table rock (or even the river, though the old twin 302 carver was better for that).

looks like a nice find though, should be pretty quick with the twins.

Nice grab. We sold our Chris Craft a while back, and seeing it in the water now makes me want it back. I would love to get into a boat but have too many bills right now. Definately get some pictures of it when you go.

Yes 50 on a boat is much different then 50 in a car. I have been up there in speeds on boats on many occasions, most new timers will be scared around 45-50, and anything above 65-70 they are usually done for. This also depends on the chop, the area, the boat, etc...

Which seat looks uncomfortable? The driver and pasenger seats are drop down bolsters so I can hit a switch and the seat bottom will drop out and I can stand up. Which is verynice when the lake is packed, you can see everyone better. And yes, this lake is very choppy, especially on the weekends w/ 4-5' wakes in the main channel. I just went down and put the boat in the water so I will get a few pics of it in there and have Nina try and get a quick vid of it. Our digital camera has a vid recorder also but never tried to put one ont he computer before so I will try.

Got ya, I thought you were being sarcastic as the driver seat in the pics was in the down/standup position and thought it was broke. Some people who have never seen that before wander about it at first.

And yes, it is very comfy!

And its 65 degrees, pouring rain here in CT...

Yet everytime I see this post I want to be out on the damn water! I think I am going to buy a boat in the next year. I got an 18' if I want it, just needs a rebuild and an outdrive, and actually have a 98 Olds Bravada lined up to tow it, just not sure if I want to do that now.

Yeah, the outdrives are not cheap at all too. I find some pretty good deals around here on boats. Well, I gotta run down and have someone pull it out of the water for me. I have some slop in the steering so need to pull the drives and the gimble rings and take gimbles to be welded in and re machined. Hopefull I can have it done before the shootout. And thanks for the compliments fellas.

BTW, saw your vid 25th, that car looks/sounds sick!
