Good looking boat man. I like the style and curves of the old school cruisers, especially the old wood boats. But cost too much to maintain them for me.

Mine is glass, but it has a **** load of teak on the interior that isnt fun to keep up.
Yeah, I know. It just got me thinking of the old wood boats. Something else to try on your teak instead of the teak oil (which I am assuming you use) is tranny fluid. On my boats w/ teak in the past and even when I do a customers boat I use tranny fluid. It gives it a little more of a red tint to it but not too much. Nothing looks better than some nicely done teak.

Not sure on the outdrive yet. I only know the boat is waiting for me to decide. I assume it has an older 3.8 or 4.3 tops and would use a Mercruiser outdrive. I am sure I could find one cheap, but right now need to finish the 5.0 and pay off the Audi. It's not too bad $$ wise, just need the motivation and desire to do it.
Not sure what clear you use but you shouldn't sure stains or clears used to treat other types of wood. There is an actual teak oil that is made for it. And with the tranny fluid, many people do this and it isn't something I just came up with to save money. It acts exactly like the teak oil but just a different color. Just figured I would let you know. I make a living working on boat doing fiberglass and gel coat repair, we also do teak restoration in the fiberglass shop.
