yup...went to look at one today and bought it...he is delivering is wednesday....

parked in 94 with 91,414 miles on it due to a blown up AOD.. it was started evey month and let idel for a little bit up untill 1999 when. it started running really rough..then in 2000 it was moved to his sons house with intentions of his sons restoring the car but it was parked again half on a car port and half off then i bought it on 2006!....

we got 7 months till i turn 16 so by then we will have it running tip top, the new top put on and hopefully have it painted....

here are some details...

1988 Ford Mustang LX
5.0 302
auto...(brand new not put in yet)
91,xxx miles...never rolled over..
we will be the 2rd owner

with the car the owner gave us a brand new top for it...

4th...i love the car...when were done with it...it will look pretty nice...

yeah...looks good from a distance dont it

then we get a to a couple of ruff spots...

then the interior...(really dirty been sitting since 1994)

then we get to the rear...and thats where it starts getting bad...

OH my where did the top go...

then then only bad spot of rust on the car..

then the ( cow spots.)

other then that the car is in good shape... the car is being delivered to us becasue it needs a few things cleared up...it has had the same gas in the tank since 2001 so when you start it...its runs ruff...dont smoke at all or anything like that...

this weekend we will hopefully tear into it and pull the tank..drain it see if it runs better then do plugs and wires and so on till its running right...

i thought i would not end up with a 5.0 till well after i was 18... well i got one...it may look like a heap to you...but its gold in my eyes

plans for paint is a repaint of factory color

99% of it is all surface rust...the only spot that will have to have a patch panel welded in is... pic number 9....other then that it will be sand it down to the metal...do what ever needs done and then prime paint ect...

first though we need to get it running right....

how much did it cost you? would it have been cheaper to get a speed density 5.0 and convert it to mass? i admit my Capri needed a lot of work when I got it. It still does. But it's a Capri. way harder to find than a Mustang(not bashing Mustangs). it's good the owner threw in a new top. but that all that rust is going to cost some money to repair. anywho congrats on your 5.0. throw in some gears as your first mod. go 4.10's. just my two.

idk...but the engine is staying the way it is for a while...just going to get a tune up...and this is the best condition mustang i have been able to find in 4 months...and the cheapest... and its harder to find a auto around here...most have been converted to 5 speed...

and no to get the whole car repainted will cost me about 400-500..we will do it ourselves...

did you ever see what my dad's 5.0 looked like when he bought it? the rust on it was a hell of alot worse...

your dad should have just let you have the 5 speed. an auto 5.0 can get you in as much trouble as an auto. to me a 5 speed is just more fun to drive. well to me at least. nothing like ******ing gears.

your avoiding the question HOW MUCH.. be honest you need to learn how to drive before you get a 5.0.. i started driving a 95 f-150 short bed single cab w/ a inline 6.. that couldnt get up a hill if it wanted to.

1,600 delivered to my door with a brand new black top and a brand new auto tranny with 2,000 miles on it..

worth it? to me yes....to most of you probably not because its not a "5 speed" and its a little rusty... but to me...its a diamond in a ruff...a big ruff at that...you all seen what my dads car started looking like and the way the paint is today...nicer huh?
