Bought me a new toy - Caster/camber gauge

I've gotten sick of doing my alignments with a t-square, tape measure, and level. I've been eyeing the Longacre caster/camber gauges for awhile and finally decided to get one. I went ahead and popped for the billet aluminum version as opposed to plastic.



I can't wait to play with thing.

I never noticed but I guess it does resemble a remote doesn't it?

Sorry i wouldn't know what to do with it. Was it expensive? Looks expensive. As long as you get use out of it, everything you buy for your car is justified- whether you ever get the money back out of your car or not IMO.

After shipping, it was $156.10. It's a tuning tool that allows me to do my own alignments with a 1/4* of precision. The black cone at the top is actually a high strength magnet that attaches to the center of the hub. The two bubble gauges on the sides give me my negative or positive camber readings while the wheels are pointed straight ahead. I then turn the wheels and the the bubble gauge in the center gives me my caster reading.

The beauty of this tool is I can get my readings anywhere, anytime. I just pop the lug cover, set it for level (the small bubble level at the tip) and take the readings. I can do it in my garage or at the track. I can have my street alignment set in there and drive to the track. I then attach the gauge, adjust my MM CC plates to get my track readings and I'm done. At the end of the day, I reset my street settings and drive home.

You can see how it fits in this pic. This is a pic from a guy I know on another forum (hope he doesn't mind me pirating it). I'm running the same wheels and the mag base fits perfectly in there.
