Bought supercharger, couple of questions for Vortech owners

Okay, just bought a "tuner" kit from a friend of mine, which included everything except for the discharge pipe (because he was running the aftercooler), which I didn't buy.

Eventually I am planning on running an air/air intercooler, but for now am going to install the base kit as it comes from Vortech.

For now, I am shooting for 350 - 375 RWHP. I am planning on running the following combo, but just want confirmation or other opinions before I start buying stuff:

Cobra 39 lb injectors
Focus SVT fuel pump
Lightning mass air meter
SCT tuning software
AFM power pipe

Also, when we pulled the supercharger from my friend's car, it appeared that the head unit is clocked differently for the aftercooler than it is when the discharge tube runs straight to the throttle body. Can anyone confirm this, am I going to have to re-clock the head unit?

I can't help you with your question, but I can tell you that I'm damn jealous. That's what I'm looking to buy. What did you pay? Is it an S-Trim or SQ-Trim?

Reclocking is very simple.Just a few bolts.

I recommend 42's instead of the cobra 39's.
If you plan on more power later just go ahead and get a sct maf.

Lastly make sure you have eveything and that his car was a 00 up setup.Because the brackets are different from a 99 back to a 00 up..

Is there any seals or gaskets involved with re-clocking the head unit?

The supercharger came off a 2002, so I'm all set there.

no, just loosen the each of the 6 small bolts on the back of the unit. the front of the blower will then spin freely. clock it to where it needs to be, then tighten the bolts. it's not hard once you know what you're doing.

Why hunt used?Tuner kits can be had for 2~2500 new..
Unless its a steal (like 1k)id get new..Getting my s trim years ago cheap is what got me into the postion im in now...Boy did that cost me a lot of money ..

I paid $1500 for the kit from a friend, which has approx 6,000 miles on it.

It included everything except the discharge tube.

I still have to find injectors, mass air meter, fuel pump & tune.

Does anybody have any advice whether the combo listed above will be suitable for 375 - 400 rwhp?

where are u finding tuner kits this cheap? i am looking on vortechs site and other sites and dont see them. i am assuming its significantly cheaper if u get a tunner kit for 2 grand and then buy the other stuff yourself....
also where is a good place to search for used superchargers? it seems like eveyrone is switching blowers etc...but i never see them for sale.

I figure I'll have the following $$$ in mine:

S/C Kit: $1500
Discharge tube: $100
Cobra injectors: $100
Lightning MAF: $100
Focus pump: $100
Dyno Tune: $150
SCT software: $399

Total is around $2500 ... not too bad.

You should be in your target HP range. I am assuming that your pretty much stock other than the SC, I also would reccomend 42 lb injectors, Like others said reclockin is just a matter of loostening the bolts and turning it to where you need it.

Right now the head unit has a 3.33 " pulley on it, which I guess will produce about 9-10 lbs of boost? The only thing done to the car is o/r x-pipe and magnaflow catback.

I would like to safely push 375 RWHP.

I'm gonna do the install, it's really not that hard. We took the unit off his car, so I saw how everything went together.

i bought my non-intercooled SQ vortech from another member on MPH, back when they had a for sale section. its on my 01 5-speed GT. with the supercharger and 4.10's being the only mods, she put down 368 rwhp. this was done with a rather rich tune and 91 octane fuel. Tim Barth knows how to tune these things. good luck with the install
