I had the master cylinder replaced, a set of braded lines installed and the whole brake system bled a few months ago. I have been out of town for a few weeks and when I hopped in this weekend, I heard the dreaded sound of a bad brake booster. I have a feeling that the old MC leaked some fluid into the booster thus eating a hole in the diaphram leading to this lovely hissing sound every time I pressed the brake pedal.
On to my question: can I replace the booster without disconnecting the MC and rebleeding the lines? I read a few places that it's possible, but I figured that you guys have done this operation at least once. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Just remove the lines from the MC and pull it. I don't see how you would remove the booster w/o bending the hell out of all the lines trying to move the MC out of the way. IMO much easier doing it that way. It will be much better than having to re do the hard lines b/c you ended up kinking them. Trust me, the metric bs ford uses is a pain. If you do it that way just reconnect the lines and bleed all the brakes starting w/ the wheel furthest from the MC which would be the passenger rear. Good luck

Don't forget to bleed the M/C first.

I have done it, but it wasn't easy. The only reason I was able to do it was because I had one of Matt90GT's 3 to 2 way line kits. No way to do it with all 3 lines connected to the MC.
