Brake Estimate?

I'm just about finished assembling my car after swapping in the 347 and I'm curious how much a typical shop would charge to put together my drum brakes (nothing is assembled on the rear) and power bleed the entire brake system?

i dont know exactly where you live, but i live in the DC where everything is soso expensive- and labor is 82 an hour. the job youre speaking of should take no longer than 3 hours, probably even 2. so anywhere from 160-240. not too bad

You can buy a pressure bleeder from Summit for $50 and do it yourself!

You can get a one-man bleeder tube/bottle from Autozone, etc. for $10 and do it yourself, too.

Do you not know how to do the job, don't have the tools, or just don't want to do it? I'm sure people here can help you with the first two, at least

drum brakes

imo get rid of the drum brakes and go with some discs. but if you have a chiltons manual for the car and some spare time you can do the brakes yourself. if you dont have the specialty brake tools a set of pliers, long flat head screwdriver, and a set of work gloves to save your knuckles is all you would need. all the parts shouldnt be that much money shoes would be about 20 bucks and the spring kit for the rear end would be about 8 bucks, as long as you dont need the adjusters. if the adjusters are locked up then is would be a little more for those. im no expert when it comes to brakes but as long as you leave one side together for reference and work on the other side you cant go wrong.
