did you ever get working? i have exact same issue. i can wiggle switch up/down it will work, just not with pedal. i put on new switch, same result.Gents, I really appreciate this site more than you can know. I recently replaced my brake booster and master cylinder, as when I started the car with my foot on the brake i could hear what sounded like air rushing through the brake booster area. I pulled off the old booster and it looked original from the factor, rusted all the rubber torn apart. So far so good (outside the 10 hours it took me to complete this task). I test drive my car, brakes are great but I have no brake lights. I went back over my work, as I had to lower the steering column to gain access to some of the nuts behind and above the brake pedal. Doing some troubleshooting, when I rotate the switch by hand with everything hooked up, the brake lights come on. When I just press the brake pedal, the do not illuminate. I followed my shops manual during this excursion, with much difficulty, so my question is as follows: What forces the brake switch to rotate when depressing the brake pedal to create the path for electricity to go to the brake lights? What am I missing? I have a 1989 Mustang GT. Thank you for your help.
I did get it working. Turns out the arm from the brake booster to the brake pedal wasn't correct enough. The hole in the arm that allows the pin from the brake pedal was slightly smaller than the hole in the arm of the brake booster I removed, not allowing the brake pedal movement to depress the switch enough to illuminate my brake lights. I used a dremmel tool to open the hole enough to allow for this movement. Still looking for the cruise control striker plate though, the SN 95's are built slightly different. Trying to get someone to 3d print one for me. The striker part for the newer mustangs are not in the same spot. Where the striker surface for my foxbody would be in one spot, it is offset for the newer cars. Hard to explain really. For the foxbody, the striker face would be where the piece wraps around the face of the pedal assembly, on the SN95's it is offset, or lower towards brake booster. Certain this is clear as mud.What's different?

@Scrapla347 posted a picture earlier in my thread of a good bracket for the cruise control. I highlighted the striker face that contacts the switch for cruise control. On the newer set ups, this face is offset lower, or towards the mounting hole and doesn't contact the switch. That is the best I can explain with my limited vocabulary. Then you have the correct striker for the foxbody. How do I get one of those is the next question.I looked at the widgets on my extra assembly and it's the same although I will say took a minute cause your pic had shadows.
