Brake Line Leaking

I just recently did a Wheel Cylinder on my car. Ever since one of the lines is just constantly dripping fluid. Can anyone tell me a fix or tell me how im :Zip2: dumb :Zip2: and messed it up?

did u tighten everythng up?? hows the flare on the brake line?

Yea everything is super tight, its when i press the brake the fluid is just oozing out, its leaking between then line and the flare.

Is it happening on both sides?

Did you check to see if the flare on the end of the line was messed up?

The flare looks fine, its just weird how its leaking on in between the line and the actual fitting. Everything is tight but when i press the brake it still drips a little fluid, but enough to notice.



Its only leaking from the one that i did... the other side is fine and not leaking.

If you're sure it's tight, maybe there's a small crack or the flair is messed up. If there is enough line, you could trim a hair off and make a new flair. Brake line bends pretty easy. Not sure, but you might be able to rent the flair tool from Advance Auto, etc.

was the nut rusted to the old cylinder?? it could be anything...i would take it apart again check the flare and check the cylinder for something inside it not letting it seal completly..the flare but could be cracked...the brake line could be cracked.....if it was me i would check everything and if its bad i would just go buy a new piece of 3/16" brake line and bend it and replace the old one making sure the flares are good...and double check the connections for tightness

I just tried cutting off the old flare and redoing it, but the same thing happens. I don't know what the deal is but its really starting to annoy me. The fitting looks fine, just really destroyed now that I've gotten to it and tightened it so many times.

bad cylinder or bleed screw is bad...

Maybe the threads are messed up on the new wheel cylinder. Surely wouldn't be the first time.
