Hey everyone, when you put in your brake lines do you use teflon. With some of the fittings I have not been using teflon and I get a bit of a leak. Would teflon help this. Is it recommended? Thanks

By the way, I just destroyed my POS double flare tool. Snapped both of the bolts in half while tightening it onto 3/16 brake line. Peformance Tool sucks.

never and i repeat never!!!! use teflon tape on brake lines, brake lines do not seal buy the thread they seal buy the flare on the line being pressed onto the fittings on the wheel cylanders and master cylander etc....

teflon tape can contaminate and comprimise the brake system or can prevent the fitting from seating far enough....

if you have a leak you have a either a problem with the line or the flare or the part the line is attaching too......

OK, I thought I remember someone saying not to use teflon on brake lines. Just wanted to make sure. I will try reflaring the line this week.
