brake question

I just put new pads on the front of my 98 cobra and notice that I have a squeaking sound coming from my passenger side brakes. When I apply the brakes the noise goes away but when I let off the brakes I can hear the brakes making noise. I put brake lube on the back side of the pads so everything shoulb be lubed up good, any ideas??

It sounds like the pads are rubbing on the disc when the brakes are not engaged. Did you install them correctly with proper spacing between the disc and the pads?

I will go back and check to make sure, but yes I think everything is installed correctly, could it be the new pads are too thick to fully disengage untill they get worn down some??

I think the pads are not backing off completely and maybe you should check the spacing again

After thinking about it some more, the new pads you put on would be thicker than the old ones you replaced. I'm sure as you drive the car, the lining on the pads will wear and soon enough there will be the millimeters of clearance you need between the pads so that the breaks dont squeal anymore.

Yeah I made sure that the back of the pads were lubed up good,
