what are all you guys running as far as stock replacement brake parts? A few months ago i picked up some hawk ceramic pads and some Trustop rotors from NAPA and ever since i put them on they squeak. Not just every once in a while but all the time? I'm assuming the squeak is from the rotor/pad combo i have being that the rotors were pretty cheap. what kind of pads and rotors is everyone else running as far as stockish stuff goes? also my outer pad is wearing faster than the inner one. i always was told that the inner one wears faster. any ideas??

could just be a bad set, that happen to me all four tires squeeked for a week i took them off and took them back.. the place gave me a new set of the same pads and they havent sqeeked since but i have cobra brakes with disk all around but i guess it could happen to any one..

I am running Steeda slotted rotors, Steeda steel caliper sleeves and EBC Greenstuff pads. Works very well with very little dust and no squealing noises. Definite improvement over stock.
If you do a lot of high speed braking or do track days then EBC Redstuff might suit you better. I am going Redstuff next time I replace my pads.

nope didnt put anything on the back of the pads when i installed them. would that stop squeak stuff work? i dont understand the part about taking the cap off the master though?

Im using Wagner pads on replacement rotors (dont know the brand because they were on there when I got the car).

They dont squeal but the car doesnt seem to stop all that quickly. The rear brakes are fairly new.

The caliper will barely move. The pads are constantly in contact with the rotor, its just a little movement that makes them grab. Sometimes its hard to tell.

Did you make sure that all surfaces are clean? Get some disc brake cleaner and clean the rotors down. Slightly scuff the pads with some sand paper. Some higher quality pads come with an anti-squeal backing pad, like Bendix. Supposed to reduce metal-metal contact. I'm a big fan of Bendix pads.

i have had these on the car for a few months now and they have squealed from day one. i guess i should take them back off and just give everything a good cleaning. why would the outer pad be wearing faster than the inner pad? thats what im curious about
