brake questions

i changed my calipers with stock ones and when i put them back on and bleed the system the fluid was leaking out of the right rear. wouldn't have noticed but i had a buddy doing the bleeder screw. it comes out at the bleeder screw. i looked at the bottom of the line the square block that the bleeder screw goes into and it has some nicks in it. so i figure that's where it's leaking.

could i get aftermarket S/S brake lines to fix it? if so what do i need? I don't know what to do or what to get. thanks

Yeah, that is not the bleeder screw it is the banjo bolt if it goes into a square block.

what would i have to replace? how do i get off the brake line that connects from the caliper to the main brake line?

If you are talking about the square block that the line feeds into the caliper, on each side of it there will be brass crush washers and then the banjo bolt. These washers will need to be replaced when the caliper is replaced since they are crushed when you tighten the bolt down. If they are new, tighten the bolt more. If you reused them, get new ones on there right away.

Also, remember to plug the brake lines when they are disconnected so air does not get drawn up into then.

i tried putting new brass washers on and it still leaks.

Where exactly is it leaking? Can you post a couple pics?

What about the actual bleeder screw? Is it tight?

Also, if you have painted rims and you have spun brake fluid all over the inside of them you must clean this off or it will damage the paint. Brake fluid is very harmful to paint.

the screw tightens but it comes from between the block and the caliper where the brass ring is. the screw tightens well but the block has some nicks in it. i think that's what it is. i don't have a camera.
