brake questions...

well my brakes are starting to suck bad and im thinking its time to do something. When i got my tires mounted the guy said my brake pads/shoes were paper thin and should think about replacing them soon.

What all do i need to do this on my own? good products? helpful instructions? i've never really done anything with brakes before but would really like to avoid paying someone to do it for me seeing as im a poor coolege student...

Not hard at all. A basic socket set is really all you need. If you do a search on here, I think someone has a write up about it. Hardest part about the rears is taking the covers for the drums off.

Also, depending on when you've done your brakes last, you might want to think bout getting new rotors too.
