I started getting a squeal while driving then a bad rubbing sound when braking, tracked it down the the rear driver's side wheel, guess just pads are worn out (about 3 years old). I've gotta get it fixed, probably will do both sides on the rear while I'm at it. I've never put brakes on, so not sure what the best deal is. The car is my daily driver. If ran at the track, it is on a 1/8 mile track with a trap of mid 90's mph. Rarely sees faster speeds. Should I stick with solid rotors (stock ones) or try some drilled/slotted rotors? I'm just not sure if any aftermarket rotor would be a big enough improvement to justify the cost over just replacing pads and keeping stock rotors (assuming they are in good condition. This is for a 96 Cobra. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Keep the stock rotors. Save the money for something else.

If you ever get to the point where you need better brakes go with the slotted rotors. The drilled rotors tend to crack.
