Breather System Rig Up...Part DEUX

Joe had posted pics of his progress thus far on his breather system to eliminate the VC Breather and help Prevent Blow By.

Thanks to he and BLING, I have "almost" finished mine. Read at the very end what still is left to do!

First 2 pics are the parts I used.. This will help you guys find the parts if needed..(I also used some 5/16" hose for the Oil filler neck connection and 3/8" for the "after Check Valve" Connection)



Next Pic is the "layout" of how it will be in the car. The hose on the right goes into the OIL filler neck, that goes to the fuel filter, then the hose goes to the Brake Check Valve. The other part in the previous pic is the grommet that allows you to connect the hose. I had to shave some rubber off of the 5/16" hose to get it to fit in the check valve. The hose that "leaves" the check valve has to be 3/8". The silver piece at the end is the heater hose fitting, which will go into the power pipe. Bling used a regular 1/4" threaded, 3/8" tubing Male air connector. I found this piece which has the same sizes, but the nipple is actually made for a hose instead of an air tool.



Here is a pic of the TBird Turbo PCV. The top piece is capped off. You cant use the preformed stock hose to the intake since is preformed and curved. Instead, just take a 3/8" segment hose. Make sure the pressure from the stiffness of the hose does not "lift out" the PCV. You have to be pretty exact in the size of the hose.



The last pic is the setup in the car "for now". I did NOT yet put the piece on the power pipe..Instead the hose just drops down into the fender well. I did this, because I wanted to see if any oil is gonna go through it. I talked to Bling, and he said that this setup is not quite as good as his system, where the hose is connected into the power pipe, BUT it is STILL better than the stock system....It lets air out, but not in. It is kinda a good intermediate between stock and his final system.



I tried the car just for a minute and hit 10 PSI boost without a problem. I will run it a bit later and post any problems/outcome.

I'm proud of you, you did it I guess all I would have had to do is send you a pic and you could have finished it weeks ago. Since my interweb skills are lacking to say the least, that did'nt happen. That filter is the exact one I used, but the booster ck valve looks a little different. As long as it serves it's purpose then whatever. Good luck.

Thanks for all your help Mike. Ran it today while hitting 10-11 pounds a couple of times...Not one drop of oil in the filter or by the PCV.

That Brake valve (you can see the name on the package) is all I could find...Didnt seem like how you described it to me.

Where is Vib to chime in on this?

I did that to aid people in buying the parts. We post these "how to's", then nobody knows what parts to buy.

PS...gasket on the water neck to engine block went last night...coolant all over... have to replace on Saturday.

Thanks Wayne..I thought I would do this instead of PM you directly.

I drove yesterday on the hwy, and hit it twice with 10-11 PSI. Not one drop of oil around the PCV or in that filter...I did however blow a small hole in the Water neck gasket and leaked coolant all over

Now it's in the garage until Saturday. I will leave the tube off the power pipe for a couple of weeks and see if any oil goes in the filter. Im also going to clean out the upper intake of oil...THEN....see if any oil goes in and if it does, Im gonna put that air compressor moisture removal filter on there as a "catch can" for the oil and see how much I'm getting.

Whole System!

Ok, after reading a lot, and talking to Vib and Bling, it seems best to REMOVE the one-way valve in the line from the oil filler neck to the Power Pipe.

Here is the best computerized diagram I could come up with.

Wayne asked me if I had some type of diagram of the whole thing. Since I had pics of the parts, I decided to put it here for people doing searches in the future that dont understand it, and not limit it to me sending it to him in a PM.
