So here I am, minding my own business, when I get a call from a buddy asking me to meet him because he thought he had broken something in his drivetrain on his 2002 V6 Mustang. I went out there and there definitely was something wrong. Apperantly, the idiot was showing off in front of a few locals, revved in nuetral, and slammed it into drive.
It makes a loud clicking noise accompanied by a pretty strong "buck". There isn't any pattern to it, its really pretty random and various in the strength of the click and buck. I got under there but I could not see anything wrong. No diff fluid, nothing visibly broken, nothing. I'm thinking it may be in the diff or one of the axles (couldnt really see them well at the time).
Any ideas? The car drives alright, i guess, except for the clicks and bucks. What could it be??
BTW, its a V6 so it doesnt have tlok

V6, street tires: no power, no traction. I would think the tranny would go LONG before the ring and pinion, unless the V6 rear end is really that lame?
Can you not do a brake stand in those v6's?
