Broken Strut Rod !!!!! it happens

Im glad for the ones who havent had a problem too.

I beat this car for the last 4 years. It has seen many 140+ mph runs, triple digits through corners all the time. If a strutrod failed during that usage,,, that could have been REALLY BAD....

I think that when a strut rod fails it doesnt show aNY signs or pre breakage. it just gives all in one shot. so inspection of that part might not show you much.

any way stay safe fellow stang mashers.

keep it Flord

You know I just went for it.
i ordered the TCP rods . I dont have time for anymore funky biz breaking stuff

i wasnt excited about dropping the big bucks, but they look as strong as they get. no more foolin around.

my friend gave me a stock rod and i bought rubber bushings im taking it all back.

i talked to mustangs plus, they said they flip the cup washers when they use urthane strut rod bushings and havnt had probs, that may be a solution. it makes sense. but im not goingto worry about bushings any more. we dont need no stinkin bushings. hehe

watch out for broken stuff. anybody need a driver side strut rod?

you ordered something from TCP?!!

Have you not read the threads discussing them going out of business, and taking a bunch of peoples money with them?

Please tell me you ordered the parts from Mustangs Plus, and they had them in stock.

...no lie...best of luck getting anything from TCP....the threads on their 'vanished customer service' have been going on for months now, including right here on this site.

I wish you luck - hope you arent the next 'they charged my card and no product after 4 months' guy :( The ranks are already deep.... :(

i did get them from mustangs plus. that is some of the last they had in stock.

yeah i used to be able to buy TCP wholesale and they just have a fulll voice mail box and no one called me back.

who knows what the real deal is. we shall see.

they showed up today. man they look sweet!! i cant wait to put them on.

What is the proper way to install bushings on the strut rods. It's too late mine have been on the stang awhile but I thought I'd ask. I wondered about this because the strut rods hold the lower control arms in place relative to the frame. Oh I've got the older nut on either side type.
