Bucking in 5th gear only...

Car sometimes bucks in 5th gear. It will only do it in 5th and if I give it a good amount of gas when it does it it seems to lessen it.

Thoughts?

what revs are you turning in 5th when this occurs?
i would surmise you are at low revs (if you have stock gears) and there is a tiny bit of surging, etc which is exacerbated from the low revs, lack of torque and throttle input.

About 2500 RPMs I believe. I'll check again the next time I drive it. 3.55 gears

More info would help, but I would start by checking your ignition components. Old plugs & wires can cause symptoms like you're describing.

Plugs have under 2k miles on em & wires only a little more.

Drove the car yesterday & RPMs don't seem to matter, but it looks like she only wants to do it when under light load

How's reverse?

Your gonna need to drop the tranny to be sure. Probably a worn synchro or bent 5th/reverse shaft.

I recommend you buy a Tremec.

R is fine. It's jus the bucking in 5th sometimes
