well my buddy has done an engine upgrade, includes 70mm tb, edelbrock intake, e303 cam, cutout cats, 24lbs inj, k&n, auto, not tuned, anyway, he idles when its warm around 900 in park but when he goes to stop when he is in drive, it just dies, it idles down to about 500 then just dies, not sure what the problem is, any suggestions guys or is it just the tune?

Have a 95 auto myself and after the HCI experienced the same symptoms......park to rev etc.....driving down the road and sudden stop......died...all above are the right things to check first but get a professional tune to remedy the issue.

Check the basics as mentioned above - vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, timing.

I deal with dying E303 combos all the time, tuning will eliminate it unless you jack the idle way up. This is always fixed by ensuring fueling is correct at idle and tuning the neutral/drive idle airflow functions.
