I want to build a fuel injector tester to clean out my injectors. Want to make sure I'm doing this right. Am I correct with this setup as I drew it up with the injector connector taken from an injector harness, with an alligator clamp going to the negative terminal on battery, and from the positive terminal another alligator going to the momentary switch, and completing the circuit from the switch back to the injector connector? And by doing this I'll be able to pulse power on and off to the injector safely without ruining the injector or killing myself? Thanks!

That will work, but keep in mind:
1.) That injectors are pulse devices and are not designed to continuously spray fluid. Limit the On time to 2-3 seconds per injector with a 45 second Off time when the same injector is subjected to continuous test cycles.
The injector cycle times are a best guess estimate, but they should be workable.

2.) Your pressure source will have to be capable of providing 37-41 PSI regulated pressure on a constant basis.

ive been looking around and found someone using a syringe, would I be able to use that to pressurize the liquid? Speaking of, is it safe to use the fuel injector cleaner straight from the bottle as my cleansing liquid?

Bryan83taco yep that's where I ordered my injector service kit from. I read the article also but seems to have a few holes. For example, do I put the filters back in in order to do the testing, or run them without the filters? Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to do this with regular inexpensive stuff.

If your plan doesn't work out, I paid about $130 to clean, rebuild, and flow test a set of 8 injectors.
X_x you're not making me too happy with that, lol...

well I took the injectors out and left them soaking for the night as per the instructions on oldfuelinjection. gotta go to radio shack tomorrow and pick up a switch and some wires. gonna drop the tank and redo the wiring on the fuel pump too. and heat shrink it instead of electrical taping it like I did before......

Not sure it's worth the effort, most of the common injectors can be had individually or as a set pretty cheap. Our style also rarely go bad, it's the newer ones such that come on like 03 cobra get stuck from time to time when they sit, but even that can usually be undone just by giving them a wack.
