Built 5.0HO- HP to gain with computer mods?

I built up a 5.0HO engine for my jeep with some nice goodies:

blue printed/balanced, forged flattop pistons, Edelbrock performer heads, performer intake, cobra throttle body, stock cam, BBK shorty headers, stock distributor w/ MSD coil.

I've used the entire Ford Motorsport mass air conversion kit with computer, sensor package, new stock injectors, and new wire harness.

The engine is strong, but sure doesn't feel like 300HP. Does the computer need to be tuned on a dyno? Reprogrammed? Is the stock roller cam killing my combo? What else can I look into?

tune could help if you have the cash..if not, stock fuel pressure and 14 degrees of timing is a good place to start.

cam is killing you, does no good to have heads and intake tha can flow if your cam doesn't make them flow more

Ok, the million dollar question- what cam, lifters, rockers to use then? I need MAX torque from off idle to around 3000rpm- almost never go past 5000rpm. Highway cruise is 2900rpm. Are new pushrods needed too?

Running 4.56 gears with 33" tires with a world class T-5 overdrive.

Who said it would be 300HP? These motors are only 225 stock depending on what year motor you have. With your combo, I can't see getting in the 300's
