For info purposes only
For all you guys and gals interested in the Lincoln/Ranger 5 lug conversion

Note: *I work at a Ford Dealer so I get to test wheels on my Lincoln rotor and car while The Front End Techs work on the Brakes and Suspension*

Today I Test fit a Bullit (original 17X8) with a 245 45 17 tire on my 1990 LX
I used a 5 lug Lincoln Rotor and a spacer that was .3**" thick and it fit my wheel well PERFECT!
NO rubbing! NO sticking out past the fender well!!
My car is even dropped over 2 inches!!!

Of course i was unable to fit the center cap but a little flat black paint on that grease cap will make it almost undetectable to the untrained eye.

The wheel bolted on tight but just to be safe I would use longer studs because the lugs need just a few more threads to safely hold the wheel to the rotor

Next I'm going to test fit a 98 Cobra wheel. (if one ever comes in LOL)
If that fits like the Bullits, I'm getting the 98 Cobras!

To give you an idea of how it looked: The tire looks tucked into the fender.
There is about an inch suspension travel left before it contacts the splash shield at the top of the inner fender well.
Which i think is enough for my stiff suspension set up.

Finally i found a wheel/tire combo with "the Look" I've been looking for!

I'll keep posting other tire/wheel combos...

I dunno, to me fitting the center cap is important. I'm picky like that.

Me too, and having an inch of suspension clearance, not something I oculd live with, but if you just want the looks, why not I guess. If it works for you, go ahead.

Well just last year when I started to think about finally getting new wheels for my LX
Its not that important to me if the wheels are 4 or 5 lug
The only reason I'm posting is for INFO only.
When I did a search on 5 lug conversions most people just say " I have a SN 95 conversion" Or "I have a Lincoln/Ranger axle conversion" with no details.
Or many people say "go to www.this and that web site blagh blagh" to get your answer.

Thats all.
