This may be considered a 'dumb question' but i'll shoot it out there anyways.

My car came with the silver vinyl bumper inserts, and i've recently purchased the black chrome inserts to replace them.
will removing the inserts harm my paint? i've noticed that even though the car came with them when i bought it stock, the letters are a bit crooked. i'm worried that removing the vinyl would mess up the paint in spots where the new inserts won't cover.

any and all suggestions/comments/advice is very much appreciated!

It shouldn't harm the paint to remove them. It's pretty easy to get them off also. If you have a heat gun, use it to heat the material up (just be careful to not get it the surface too hot). If you don't have one, use a blow dryer on the high setting. From here, just use a finger nail to peel the letters off.

After the material is removed, you can use Goo Gone to remove any remaining adhesive. Make sure to wash the area with soap and water right after using the Goo Gone so you don't ruin the paint.

Finally, you should have a clean surface to work with after you get it all dried off.

Definitely take your time when removing them and you'll be fine. Nice bling bling $$ upgrade
