You remember these wheels on my car right?

DSC04296.webp

I bought the set with tires for 200 bucks. I put them on and even though the tire gives it a funny look, I wasn't sure about the way they looked....so I put them up for sale in my office for 500 bucks.

This lady came in that week, and left me 200 dollars in CASH. She said she'll be back in two weeks when she gets paid. That was yesterday. I had her sign the bill saying I will hold for 2 weeks and that's it. MEANTIME I TURNED TWO PEOPLE DOWN ON THEM THAT HAD CASH IN HAND BECAUSE OF THIS LADY!!!! I can't do that to anybody, because I'm a businessman.

I'm not mad because as it sits right now, these wheels didn't cost me a dime. But what is wrong with people??? Did she forget she came here?? I mean this lady was like all over the place in here, and was on the phone a bunch of times.....just weird.
Is she made of money that is just doesn't matter that she has no wheels still?

I will give it a couple more days, but I am thinking of putting a real 245 tire on them and seeing how they look again, and if I like it, I might just tell her I sold them, and here's 100 bucks back. What do you think of these wheels again?.......and the situation I'm in???

They aren't my favorite wheel but they do match the whole modern scheme you're going for. I don't know if the typical fox wheel selection is going to be right for this car. It needs something unique.

Thanks, and yeah I agree they go with the theme, but man I just set them up there again, and I can't do it. I hope that lady comes back, because a 300 dollar profit will be nice towards some new wheels, but if not, I will sell them to somebody else for 500, and I guess I technically got 700 for them.

I can't be responsible for her stupid actions. I mean, what do you guys think of that situation??

their ok, i say that if you can sell them and make a buck (or 300) then do it. the only problem that would leave is that you wouldnt have any wheels for da hack job but you would have 300 bucks more to buy some.

i agree. You could've had them sold by now.

I say put them back up for sale. if she comes back BEFORE they sell then I'd honor her deposit obviously.

But if she comes back and you've sold them already.....shes out 200 in my opinion.

Looks pretty obvious to me. It's her loss...the money is yours. Now, if you sell them and she walks in there the next day...it's up to you.

Actually, you are running a business. If you don't want to upset a customer, give her the deposit back. If you don't care about that, the money should be yours.

I agree. If she comes back, that is an EASY 300 towards new wheels. All I did for these wheels was drive about 20 miles round trip to get them.

I like 'em. Keep 'em, put the lady's deposit in an envelope and hang onto it for her, and just give it back to her whenever she decides to show up again. Time and tires wait for no one. :D

That's what I was thinking, if she shows up, I'll just give it back.
If you tell someone straight up that this is a deposit and it expires on this day then keep it.

I agree, but I feel like a bad person, just telling somebody...sorry over 200 bucks. Besides, she isn't the type of person I would want to mess with. She had a BIG son with her, and he wasn't somebody I would want to make mad. I Could sense there was something with him.

Yep. This dude from Craigs List called me at like 9:00pm that night, and wanted them Saturday morning. I told him is shes doesn't come back, but I didn't save his number....it got pushed out of my phone.

Do you have a contact number? Call her and tell her you're selling them and if she wants them she better come and get'em or her deposit is yours.

Yes. I called here yesterday, and it went to voicemail. IT wasn't her voice either, it was an automated " The suscriber you are contacting is not available." She didn't return the call either.

Yeah, I don't want to upset a potential future customer, or piss one off. MAking people mad at the junkyard isn't good. You never know who they could send up there later. That is what I want to avoid. If this was off Craigs List or something, and we had a middle meeting spot, I wouldn't even think about it, she'd be out 200 already. I think I'm junping the gun...I mean one day isn't bad, but I tell ya.....I had this one guy leave me 400 bucks over 4 weeks for this 350 motor, and he never came back. That was 3 years ago. He isn't around, nobody knows what happened to him.....

I do not care for those wheels at all. Id like to see some ROH ZS wheels on it. I bet they would look nice!

As for the woman. Call her and ask if shes coming back. Tell her the deposit was non refundable. Or did you tell her that already?

**** that.. do you know how many times i've whollopped on a bigger guy? don't use her son as an excuse for you to be a business man. keep a baseball bat in the trunk and a dog in the yard? ::shrugs::

Man if this chick is that careless with $200 then you just got yourself $200. If that's how she manages her money then she must have more money than sense. Keep it and sell the wheels and when and if she comes back tell her you called and made an attempted to let her know that her DEPOSIT had expired and you sold the wheels. Let her try to take you to Judge Judy for that and get herself humiliated.

I agree with 93GTosu and 85_SS_302_Coupe. I'd wait a day or two, if she doesn't call back put them back up for sale. If she comes in and you already sold them, tell her you turned down two other people who both offered $500 and sold them later for $400 to get ride of them. Tell her the money was non-refundable. Save back $100 bucks and if she throws a big fit about the money tell her you will meet her 1/2 way and give her $100 back. Unfortunately you "took a loss" by holding them for her and $100 is all you can do to break even..
Your time to relist them, having to tell people their sold, potential loss opportunity, storage space, etc is worth $100.00 IMO

Exactly. If she comes and gives the other 300, fine, cool. But if she pulls the "You know, I just can't afford it, or my daughter found tires, or she got rid the car" line....I'll tell her, look lady, I could have sold these 3 times over, so I can't give you your money back. If she throws a hysterical temper tantram, than I'll say heres 100 bucks. 200 bucks is a lot of money, I can't believe she hasn't come back yet. That is almost one months worth of gas for my truck.

Dude just sell them and move on. *IF* she comes back tell her the deposit ran out and you made your attempt to contact her and got voicemail. Maybe next time she'll use her head.
