I looked but did not really see anything...is anyone have issues with oil burning on startup? The steed just popped 20K miles and I noticed that now if it sits for a couple days, it burns some oil on startup. Tells me I've got a top end issue, like valve seals or guides. Anyone else having this problem or seen a TSB on the issue?

thanks,
LB

Mine does it, and so do a lot of others. Nothing to worry about.
One thing that helps to prevent it from happening is to always run the engine for a minimum of a few minutes before turning it off, especially when the ambient temperatures turn cold.

Mine started blowing smoke on cold starts at <10k miles.

I've since switched to full synthetic Mobil 1 which doesn't seem to produce much (if any) smoke when it burns.

Problem solved....LOL

I believe that this problem is caused by oil pooling on top of the closed butterfly valve of the charge motion control valves (CMCV) plates when the engine is off and is perfectly normal on our cars.

I attributed the smoke to running rich (I never got out to smell it and didn't pay close attention to color). I also thought it might have something to do with the tune that I have... It only happens to me if I start it up for a minute to move it, shut it down, then start it back up again. Doesn't seem to hurt anything though.
