Hi Guys,

I've owned a 2004 Mach 1 mustang for about 2 years now that's procharged. Other than the occasion check engine light that pops on for the EGR system I've had no issues until tonight.

I'm driving home and all of a sudden the whole passenger compartment fills with smoke with an electrical smell. The smoke goes away as I pulled over And turned it off. Smoke stopped but I now have no dash lights or lights to my AC / radio except the mileage read read out and time / radio station read out on the radio head unit. Any ideas what caused this or how to diagnose how to fix it ?

Thanks!

Greg

If this were my car I would take a full and accurate inventory of the fuses that have blown. By knowing which fuses have blown will tell you where and what to do next.

For an electrical problem such as this a full set of factory Ford wiring diagrams can be a huge help. If interested in getting a copy for yourself I maybe able to help. PM if interested.

If looking for an educated guess, start first with the head light switch. They have been known to over heat especially if after market head lights have been used.
