Burnt Headers...this sucks

umm por 15 is made for coating headers and is works till 1400*, thats really weird especially since I was going to coat my headers with por15
Apparently we both mis-read somewhere...the POR 15 is for rust prevention; POR 20 is the high temp paint which is good up to 1400*. Don't feel bad, I thought the same thing.

However, I do believe it was the clear on mine that burnt...the POR 15 looks fine from the little flakes of burnt clear I've picked off, but I would recommend going with the POR 20 or that eastwood stuff mentioned earlier for exhaust. I did paint my tailpipes w/ POR 15 and it turned a brownish in some areas, which kinda makes me wonder why I thought it would be ok for my headers...

Either way, this post was not to criticize POR 15, this is my error. I was trying to inform others of what NOT to do and gripe a little at the same time:D
