I just changed my ign. module the other day because the car was running differently from day to day in the 5000 rpm and up range. some times it would run fine and other times it would sputter and miss. The rest of the ign. system is new except for the distributor. My ign. module was still the factory one with 105,000 miles on the car. So after reading some posts i decided to change the module. When i took it off, i saw on the contact side of the module that there was a very dark burn mark right below the 3 terminals that go into the dist. The new module is an accel and the car runs great now the whole way to 6000rpms. Does anyone know what the burnt spot was or what caused it, and do i have to worry about it happening again.
